Since Vantage Personnel acquired HR consultancy Hassell Blampied Associates one year ago – becoming Vantage HBA – the company has seen significant growth, both in terms of its client base, service delivery and staff numbers.

With a staff base that has risen from the two original Vantage Personnel team, to its current total of seven, the company has been focusing on developing its HR advisory services and recruitment offering as well as extending the reach of its annual remuneration survey which delivers an in depth pay and benefits analysis across a range of sectors within the Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man markets.

In order to drive these growth plans forward effectively, Verienne Belcher has been appointed Managing Director of Vantage HBA and she will soon be joined on the board by Ed Daubeney – the Deputy Chairman of the Polygon Group which is the major shareholder of the Vantage group of companies.  Verienne, who is also Director of Vantage Marketing, has been developing the strategy for the firm.

Vantage HBA’s staff growth has included the recent appointment within its HR advisory team in Jersey of Ashley Le Feuvre, who has extensive experience providing consultancy services across all aspects of HR management. This appointment also forms part of the company’s overall future strategic plan to complement the current offering Wendy McHugh in Guernsey provides as Verienne explains:

“We have seen a growing demand for our advisory services, whether that’s companies seeking to outsource part or all of their HR function, or in-house HR teams looking for advice on certain issues they are facing. We have put a qualified experienced team in place which is able to deal with the very wide range of HR-related situations that arise and I am confident that this area of our business will go from strength to strength.”

Within the recruitment division, the appointments of Rebecca Reddy and Gina Broadhead have bolstered the team which is headed up by Ward Jenner.  Both Rebecca and Gina are professionally qualified, holding the Diploma in Recruitment Practice.  These two appointments have enabled the company to develop its service offering to cover a broader diversity of sectors and levels within the Jersey market place, benefiting both clients and candidates.  With over 30 years’ combined experience within both the finance industry and commercial sectors, the team provides an extensive recruitment service at all levels, tailoring its approach to the circumstances and needs of the client or candidate.

The remuneration survey itself is also evolving so that it remains wholly relevant to the ever-changing market place. In addition, the team has spent time seeking and collating feedback from existing participants to ensure that the survey continues to fulfil their needs. The survey base has been extended, with more companies being encouraged to participate and the firm is also looking to incorporate additional sectors of the islands’ business communities, particularly in the Isle of Man. Verienne said:
